What Lightnido collects, who processes it, how long it is kept, and how to have it removed. Effective October 3, 2026.
Lightnido is an AI assistant. It is not a person. Not affiliated with or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Who runs it
Lightnido is a private family project for the Kindex Discord server. It is not a business and does not sell anything.
What is collected
- In the Kindex Discord: messages in the channels Lightnido can read, and any photos or journal entries posted there. Lightnido reads them so it can reply, write the Wednesday note, and caption family photos. It also keeps short notes about the week.
- Direct messages with the bot: recent messages in your DM and a short private memory about you (for example, things you asked it to remember). Type “forget …” in a DM to remove something. This memory is only used in your own DMs.
- Discord sign-in on this site: your Discord user ID and username. Discord also shares the list of servers you belong to. That list is checked once at sign-in to confirm you are a Kindex member, and it is not stored. A signed session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 14 days.
- Signed-in Ask: the shared family thread (up to the 80 most recent turns) and a short family-week digest. The digest is a few brief notes, up to 30 days back, synced from the Discord bot.
- Public Ask (not signed in): what you type in that session. It is not saved on the server. Your IP address is held briefly in memory to limit abuse.
- Standard hosting logs from Cloudflare and the server that runs the bot.
Who processes it
- xAI generates replies. The messages, notes, and photos needed for a reply are sent to xAI's API to produce that reply.
- Discord hosts the server and handles sign-in.
- Cloudflare hosts this site and stores the signed-in thread and digest.
Lightnido does not sell this information, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
How long it is kept
- Public Ask: not stored after the reply.
- Sign-in session: up to 14 days, or until you sign out.
- Signed-in family thread: the most recent 80 turns. Older turns roll off. Selected turns can be deleted from the Ask page at any time.
- Family-week digest: replaced each time the bot syncs.
- Notes, DM memory, and logs on the bot's server: kept until the family admin removes them. Older DM memory is trimmed over time.
- Discord messages, photos, and journals stay in Discord under Discord's own rules. Deleting them in Discord removes them from what Lightnido can read next time.
- xAI may keep API requests for a limited time under its own policies.
How to ask for deletion
Message the family Discord admin in the Kindex Discord. Ask to see or delete what Lightnido holds about you, or to have it stop reading your messages. You can also delete selected turns of the signed-in thread from the Ask page yourself.
Children
Discord and this site are for people 13 and older. Lightnido is not meant to process information from children under 13. If a child under 13 has used it, a parent can ask the family admin to delete that information.
In a crisis
Lightnido is not a counselor or emergency service. If you or someone you know is thinking about suicide or self-harm, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, U.S.). If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
Family posts stay in Discord
Family messages, photos, journals, and the Wednesday note stay in the Kindex Discord. This site doesn't publish them.
The Ask page
The Ask page lets you chat with Lightnido in a browser. Without signing in, it can't see anything from Discord. Kindex members who sign in share one family chat thread, described above.
Not affiliated
Lightnido is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It can point to scripture and official Church sources, but it does not speak for the Church.
